An Independent "Unity for Change" Campaign for the Senate
Kevin ZeeseI'm running for U.S. Senate because the two major parties no longer represent the interests of most Americans. A recent poll described in July 16 th Economist, asked voters if they thought their elected officials represented their priorities. Only 17 percent said yes. And, if we look at the policies being put in place by those in office we repeatedly see that the American people are correct – their views are unrepresented. Read more...
Support third-party candidate Zeese
Thursday, 04 May 2006

By Ian Logsdon
Retriever Weekly Staff Writer

The Maryland General Assembly passed a piece of “emergency legislation” this session--emergency legislation with a devious purpose. Emergency legislation aimed at one person. That man is Kevin Zeese. Kevin Zeese is an activist and now candidate for the Senate of the United States of America, and Kevin had a plan. The plan was to unite the Green Party, Libertarian Party and the Populist Party, and build a major unity campaign to try and topple the republican/democrat stranglehold on politics in Maryland. But the dems wouldn’t be put down easy this year.

Breaking a Political Taboo

By David Bolton

published in Counterpunch, May 3, 2006

I do at bit of volunteer work at the Gift of Hope home in East Baltimore, run by the Missionaries of Charity. The nuns follow in the path of their founder, Mother Teresa, as they minister to anywhere from eight to twelve men down on their luck. Many living in this three-story row house are addicts, spending their final days withering away from AIDS

The good sisters treat all the men the same--with dignity.

This sense of dignity makes me think of the so-called war on drugs that our government has been waging for the past 35 years. Despite spending $50 billion annually at the federal, state and local level to prevent the drug trade, despite putting more people behind bars for drug-related offenses than any other country, the war has not made a dent into the drug trade. Business is booming, with up to $200 billion exchanging hands in this underground U.S. economy (drugwarfacts.org).

Kevin Zeese: “Hawkish Israeli Lobby Wants War with Iran!”
Tuesday, 25 April 2006
  by William Hughes

So likewise ‘a passionate attachment’ of one nation for another produces a variety of evils...” - George Washington’s “Farewell Address,” September 19, 1796

Kevin Zeese was the first speaker at a public forum held on Monday evening, April 24, 2006, at the West End Neighborhood Library, near the community of Georgetown. The topic for the event was, “Is the Israel Lobby Promoting War on Iran?” He said the question of whether the hawkish, hard-right, pro-Israeli Lobby in America wants to see war with Iran “gets answered in an ad which was in the New York Times, the Financial Times, and other newspapers. It’s a full page ad by the American Jewish Committee, put out on April 4th. The center of the bull’s eye is Iran and the headline is: ‘Can Anyone Within Range of Iran’s Missiles Feel Safe?’ I think that’s a pretty inflammatory ad. It’s signed by more than a hundred people...I think it’s a pretty strong indication of where the Lobby stands. That isn’t the only proof we have that the hawkish Israeli Lobby wants to go to war.”

We Have Met The Enemy and He Is Us

Walt Kelly, creator of the comic strip Pogo, wrote that phrase in 1970. He used it in a poster for the very first Earth Day. The message was clear. We are all part of the problem. Becoming part of the solution is our joint responsibility.

Most people have given up on politics. Why?

"You can have the facts on your side, have common sense on your side, have justice on your side-even have a majority of Americans on your side-and still our elected representatives will ignore you and put special interests first.”-Kevin Zeese

MD Senate: A Race to Watch
Thursday, 06 April 2006

By Stephen Gordon

Those of us watching the Zeese for Senate race in Maryland knew that it would be tough for him to gain Libertarian Party support, but I would not have guessed how close the vote was going to be. I hadn't seen Zeese since shortly after the Nader/Badnarik campaigns were winding down. He looked (and sounded) good on stage. I think he's lost a few pounds, and he certainly seemed younger than he did while we were doing press conferences and interviews on the Ohio recount efforts. I probably look a bit younger than I did then, too. It was an exhausting time for everyone in third party presidential campaigns, but the Nader crew (because of the ballot access stuff) may have had it the toughest.
