North Korea Shows the Importance of Negotiation and Requires U.S. to Examine its Own Behavior
“While I oppose nuclear proliferation, it is important to recognize that labeling North Korea as part of the axis of evil, refusing to directly negotiate with them and keeping tens of thousands of troops in South Korea is the root cause of this problem. The U.S. is reaping what we sow,” said Zeese.
Zeese went on to call on the United States to regain credibility in the world on the issue of nuclear weapons by dramatically reducing the U.S. stockpile and stop developing tactical nuclear weapons. “The U.S. spends billions annually storing and upgrading our nuclear weapons. The U.S. has been deploying a larger pre-emptive nuclear strike capability in Asia. Why is any one surprised by North Korea trying to defend itself?”

The Baltimore Examiner is reporting on the first three candidate U.S. Senate debate in Maryland history. The debate, scheduled for the evening Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the Baltimore Urban League, may be the first in a series of debates with Zeese and his opponents, the Examiner reports.

The Baltimore Examiner reported on the Unity Convention. Some highlights:
“You’re going to see the Kevin Zeese campaign take off in the next three weeks,” Nader predicted at the University of Baltimore. If Zeese can get some ads on TV and “the press takes more notice … you may seem rapid momentum.”
“The stars are aligned,” Zeese said. For the first time in a Maryland Senate election, there may be three-way debates with the Republican and Democratic nominees. “I believe you’re going to see that,” he said, and they may start as early as next week. |
